As you all know I am a huge fan of Costco. You would think once my kids moved out that I would not need to go there as often but nope I am still there once a week. I think one of the reasons I like Costco so much is because they are always showcasing the new food products before they hit the general market. A good percentage of the time they are items that I CAN not or WOULD not eat but this week I hit the jackpot with the Renola Grain Free “Granola” from Larabar

I love granola and one of the things when I had to eliminate gluten years ago that I missed the most was granola. You have to remember this was over 5 years ago so there was not the amount of gluten free products on the market like there is now. Here is my favorite homemade granola recipe. It is not grain free though so if you need to not have grains add something else yummy to replace the oats. I eventually did learn how to make my own and loved it but then when we went grain free I felt the pain all over again. Grain free granola is hard to make and I am still working on a recipe that I love. This product is going to keep me satisfied till I have my own recipe down.

The box I purchased at Costco contained 18  individual 1.18ounce packets. The flavors were Cocoa Coconut, Chai and Cinnamon Nut. I am sorry but I can not remember how much I paid for the box but it was not outrageous I promise.  The ingredients are gluten free, grain free and NON-GMO. Score in my books. Each packet varies in regards to sugar but the highest was found in the Cinnamon Nut coming in at 8 grams. The sugar is made from dried molasses. Highest sodium was 1% and that was in the Cocoa Coconut. Fat content was high but that is to be expected with the nuts. Its good fat, its ok 🙂 The protein ranged from 5 grams to the highest being 6 grams in the Cinnamon Nut. Here are the nutrition labels for the Cocoa Coconut and Cinnamon Nut

Another great thing about this box I got from Costco is they are all in individual packets which make them perfect for on the go. I am going to send some of these to my girls so they can have them while on the go at school.  They are perfect to pop in your pocket as you head off to work or the gym.

I just had some Chai Renola on top of my plain goat milk yogurt and it was fabulous This is one product I think you should check out now. You can learn more about this product on their website and on Amazon. The pack I purchased is unique to Costco so head on in there soon to pick one up, you won’t be diasspointed.
