If you bake as much as I do you know that buying a pre-made gluten free flour blend can get very costly. In addition to the cost sometimes I do not like the blend that is packaged. Baking gluten free can really be a struggle sometimes. There are so many different combinations of flours you can use and some taste good and some I have thrown in the trash. This recipe is one that I have loved the most. It is pretty consistent for me in regards to taste and texture. I hope you like it. Most of these ingredients can be found at your local health food store or online. I make a triple batch of this flour every time I make it. If you are new to this recipe I would probably just do the recipe as it is stated below. You want to make sure you like it before you go wild with it. I keep the flour blend in a big glass jar in my pantry.

Gluten Free All Purpose Flour Blend

  • 1.5 Cups of Brown Rice Flour ( you can also use coconut but I like brown best)
  • 3/4 Cup Arrowroot Root Powder ( starch)
  • 1.5 Cups of Garbanzo Bean Flour
  • 3/4 Cup of Potato Starch

Make sure you keep this in an airtight container. These flours are all staples in my house but like I mentioned above you might end up trying different combinations of flours. The very important thing to know is that swapping flour for flour is not always effective. Each flour has a different texture, weight and taste.
