Here is one of my favorite products from the Natural Foods West Expo I recently attended.  I will admit I was scared to taste it at first and I truly only had a sip while I was there.  I was intrigued by the guys at the booth and their story. One of the boys in the booth (Dana) was telling me how his grandmother use to give him this when we was young. I just LOVE grandma stories and I love hearing of their old world remedies. Dana told me that his grandmother would give him this for everything, no matter what the ailment. It kind of reminds me of what a lot of our population does today with tylenol, they use it for everything. I am not a fan of western med if I can avoid it so I stuck around this booth and listened to these boys tell their story to the people that approached their booth. I became more and more fascinated as they spoke, I was especially intrigued on the household products that they used to make this fire cider. Grandma’s version was more basic, just horseradish and honey ( can you even imagine?) Dana believed in this remedy and really wanted to help keep his immune system as strong as possible so he started tinkering around with  it and finally came up with what today is called Fire Cider.

I am sure I am not the only one that has tried apple cider vinegar. The health benefits are amazing and truly something we all should be drinking but wait!!!!!!!!!!!!! It taste like crap! Lets be honest, it is not something we crave. This is not fantastic tasting as you will see from my taste test but it does go down way better then straight apple cider vineger and it has some other good for you items in it.  The ingredients are: apple cider vinegar, honey, oranges, lemon, onions, horseradish, ginger, habanero pepper, garlic and turmeric.   I know you are totally intrigued now right? Check out their sight and give this a try. Its a great addition to any medicine cabinet in my book.
