Essential Oil Blend For Colds- Starting to feel that chill in your bones and that nasty cold creeping in? Summer colds can be the worst. Do not grab the over the counter stuff, lets try some natural ways first.

Here is one of my favorite ways to stop those aches in their tracks.I actually use this blend when I am starting to feel any type of ick come over me.

(Lavandula angustifolia)
2 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil (Canaga odorata)
2 drops of Neroli ( Citrus Aurantium)
3 drops of Eucalyptus (Globules)
1 oz jojoba oil or any carrier oil you have handy- If you only have an unscented lotion that would work ok as well. Trader Joes carries a great jojoba oil.
Put this in a 10 ml glass dropper bottle and keep handy throughout the season.

Rub 5-6 drops on your chest before you go to bed at night. You can also add a few drops to the bottom of your feet. If you do this please be careful when walking on a tiled floor.

Silver Fir essential oil contains almost 50% d-limonene. Immunostimulant effects of d-limonene include stimulating lymphocyte proliferation increasing the total white blood cell count, increasing the number and phagocytic activity of macrophages, and stimulating antibody production. Silver Fir is one of my favorite winter essential oils. I love to use it in a diffuser and inhaler as well.

Another thing I love to do is add 7-10 drops of this blend in 1 cup of Himalayan salts, 1 cup of Epsom salts and 3 Tablespoons of Unscented Castile Soap
