3 Things To Try When Your Workout Mojo Has Popped
Let me just say this first thing and get it out in the open. I DO NOT like working out. I know I am a Beachbody Coach and will probably be put in Beachbody Jail for that statement but you know me, I got to keep it realz.
Even when I was a young whippersnapper, I did not like the gym. I do not like to sweat, I always seem to hurt myself, the workouts are always long and let’s be honest, I would rather sip coffee and eat broccoli all day.
Now that I am in my 50’s I know I have to get over it and get in the gym. The research is all over the place and I can not deny it anymore or think just because I am chewing on lettuce every day for lunch that this makes me healthy.
BUT I still hate it. Let me share with you 3 ways I do when I need some more workout mojo.
- Try Something Different. This one is so crucial for me. It really is my #1 way to get out of my funk and find my mojo again. Because I am a Beachbody Coach I have access to hundreds of workouts. I love working out in my own gym. I am a certifiable germaphobe and by working out in my own gym I can try and control the germs. ( OMG Mikes sweats like nothing you have ever seen though, makes me crazy. I have to go in and clean EVERY single time he works out)
2. Crank The Music– Music makes everything better right? There are days I go into the gym a real bear but as soon as the music hits my ears I turn my attitude around. I seem to get lost in the music and not the exercise. Now, this is sometimes not a great thing as my form will stink but in general, music always makes my workouts more enjoyable.
Taking a walk on the beach with a buddy is sometimes all it takes for me to get back in my groove. For you, it might be picking a routine that your BFF likes and scheduling a workout coffee date 3 times a week. Companionship is a great motivator when it comes to working out. It can also double as a great motivator as well. Having that buddy keep you accountable can be invaluable.
