Man am I ever excited about this new program from Beachbody. My good friend Kalee was asked to be in the test group and she has nothing but amazing things to say about this program. I think what I am most excited about is the way they are incorporating fitness and food into one program. We all know that you need both to achieve a state of health. You can not just work out 6 hours a day then pig out on greasy pizza and expect to have that hot bod you always dreamed of right? I also love the idea of teaching people portion control. Mike and I recently swapped out our big dinner plates for salad plates . It really is true we think if the plate has any open space we need to fill it up. Our bodies do not need as much food as we typically feed it.

The 21 Day Fix is created by fitness competitor, model, and once-blogger, Autumn Calabrese. Autumn Calabrese is a celebrity fitness trainer and national-level bikini competitor. A rising star in the fitness community, she’s made a name for herself by helping people lose weight and get fit through simple portion control and consistent exercise.
Autumn holds personal training certificates from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the American Fitness Professionals & Associates (AFPA). People that know Autumn describe her as having a supportive, motivating style . Autumns new workout, the 21 Day Fix, will be here in February.
The 21 Day Fix was designed to get max results, but it was also designed to be easy to follow on the user. Kalee said the workouts are TOUGH, but mentally you know what you need to do to get results so you just do it. One of the things I liked about the program was the little prep time needed for the food part. Kalee also wanted people to know that the whole “21 Day” aspect of the program is to create and implement new healthy habits — it’s not something that is too extreme to not be able to do year-round if you want.

She even leaves some wiggle room for a piece of chocolate or even a glass of WINE 🙂 . The behaviors learned in the 21 days should become habits you can continue as a healthy lifestyle. No weighing, measuring, or counting calories, carbs or points….If it fits in the container, you can eat it.
The workouts are perfect for anywhere!!! You can do them in a hotel room, your living room, your garage or even your bedroom (but the experts say this is a no no, the bedroom is for sleeping 🙂 She does not require weights but I have heard it is a good idea to have some handy if you own them already. Now that you’ve had an overview of what the 21 Day Fix is, I want to get to the 21 Day Fix FAQ. Since I was part of the test group, I do have experience with the program; however, I am limited by legal documents about what I can say.
1. How much will the 21 Day Fix Cost?
The challenge pack will go up to $160 after February 28, 2014.
2. What is included?
In the Basic 21 Day Fix: You will receive 7 workouts on 2 DVDs Dirty 30 workout, Total Body Cardio Fix, Upper Fix, Lower Fix, Pilates Fix, Cardio Fix, Yoga Fix. Plus the nutrition guide with 7 containers that are essential to following the plan. You will also get a workout calendar, 3-day Quick Fix that Autumn uses for photoshoots, an eating plan, and 24/7 Online support, and a shaker cup.
In the Challenge Pack: Everything above plus a 30 day supply of Shakeology in any flavor. You can have Shakeology on the meal plan.

3. What does the nutrition plan look like?
The nutrition plan is super easy to follow. Very low prep time and lots of variety. You can have Shakeology 🙂 You can be gluten free, vegan or a meat lover. Lots of options.
When you order the 21 Day Fix, you receive portioned food storage containers that are measured out for the perfect portion. You don’t have to count calories, macros, or anything. It’s planned out all by containers. The containers are easy to carry with you, and they are microwave and dishwasher safe!
4. What results can I expect?
People generally lose 10-15lbs!! It isn’t a starvation or quick-fix type of program either. You can lose 10-15lbs and keep it off when you practice the healthy habits you learn in those 21 days. Remember I would ever endorse a quick fix. This is a get out of the starting blocks kinda program. It will help you learn how to eat healthy with the correct portions as will as provide a killer workout program.
5. What are the workouts like?
They are 30 minutes long and vary daily. Autumn Calabrese is the trainer, and the set is very light and fun. Each workout is intense and necessary to your results. There is a modifier so it is perfect for all fitness levels. Autumn is a personal trainer so she is going to make sure that she discusses proper form and technique before every new move is taught.
6. What equipment will I need?
You’ll need a set of dumbbells or a resistance band. Kalee said she had better results with the dumbells over the bands. Bands are sometimes harder for people to get the hang of. If you have them then use them. The weight that are suggested are 5-10lbs and more if you are a male.
7. Can I do the 21 Day Fix over 21 Days?
Duh, of course. Remember this is your new lifestye. If you do this for 21 days then go back to your bad habits you will be back at ground zero. Remember you are getting out of the starting blocks or if you already eat healthy you are reinforcing good habits.
8. Is it like the Ultimate Reset?
Negative. The only similarity they have is that both are 21 days. It is nothing like the Reset. I like this program better than the Reset for most people.
9. Who is the 21 Day Fix for?
