2 Ingredient Dairy Free Ice Cream- It is Quick, Simple and Tasty
It is that time of year when fresh berries are everywhere. I love berries in my salad, in my oatmeal, on my ice cream, in my smoothies, and just plain out of the container. If you like a cold treat on a hot day or after that yummy dinner the recipe below is quick and easy and sure to please your tastebuds.
Spring and Summer are my favorite seasons, not only because the air is so fresh and the flowers are blooming but also because the fresh fruit options are amazing and bountiful. I tend to go overboard when I purchase fresh fruit because I just throw them in the freezer before they are about to go bad. I then use them in smoothies or this super easy and tasty recipe below. The key to this treat is having the right blender in my opinion. I use a Blendtec and use the twister jar to make the treat. The Blendtec and the twister jar are a finacial commitment but a no brainer in our house. I make a smoothie everyday so having a good blender is CRUCIAL. For those of you that make smoothies I know you know what I mean. For years I would buy what I thought was a good blender only to have it break and leak after a short time. Regular blenders are just not made to last in my experience. It took me a few years to shell out the money for the twister jar but I was sure happy once I did. It is the PERFECT jar for making almond butters, guacamole and the treat below. I would not live without either of these babies now.
Here it goes, I am telling you it is really simple. This is for one serving. Take one frozen banana and 1/3 cup of any frozen berry or even frozen pineapple is good and place it in the twister jar. Place the lid on the jar and hit the + sign on the Blendtec machine. Hang on to the twister jar lid because it really takes that frozen fruit and whips it good. This is why these machines rock, most blenders would fall apart doing this so many times. Our machine is 5 years old and going strong. They have a 10 year warranty 🙂 It takes about 2 minutes. I usually stop it after about 45 seconds and just check it out and make sure the fruit is all happy. After it is done I scoop it out into a pretty cup and add my favorite homemade granola on top. It is the perfect eat clean refreshing treat. Guilt Free Yummyness.
