We have almost finished Week One of The Beachbody Ultimate Reset Phase One – Reclaim and Mike and I could not be happier. We completed this program about 4 years ago and loved it so much we wanted to do it again. The Ultimate Reset is different from anything we have ever done before. This program is not a detox, it is not a starvation diet, and it is not an exercise program. The Ultimate Reset it is truly a reset. According to Websters the word reset means: to move (something) back to an original place or position.
Mike and I started this program last week for different reasons. This is the kind of program that you really have want to do if that makes any sense. It is not a piece of cake and it takes a lot of mental willpower to complete vs physical willpower like most programs. I think the willpower comes in, at least for me, because you cannot workout, you cannot have caffeine and you cannot have a glass of wine (or any other form of alcohol). I know what you are thinking. What?! I could never do that!! Trust me, if I can do it you can too. Like I said you kinda have to have that deep down urge and a little bit of willpower. But once you are off in running it is a fantastic and, for some, a life changing experience.

The program is 21 days and consists of three phases.
- Reclaim – Reclaim your body’s balance
- Release – Release the harmful material you may be storing deep inside you.
- Restore – Restore your system to its maximum health

Here is what The Ultimate Reset is NOT.
- A starvation diet. (You’ll eat three filling, healthy meals every day.)
- An abrupt cleanse that’s hard on the body. (The supplements work together gradually to gently shift your body’s internal settings.)*
- A laxative-based, colon-focused cleanse, which fails to truly detoxify the whole body. (You won’t be running to the bathroom every hour!)

OK I’m not going to lie. This program is not all peaches and cream. Remember how I said you had to have willpower? You have to avoid nibbling and grazing throughout the day. For me, this is the hardest part. Those who know me probably thought I would say the “no wine thing” would be the hardest but, believe it or not, I’m OK with that part. But I LOVE to graze! Normally, every time I open the refrigerator I grab some veggies or, if I go in the pantry, I grab some nuts, even if I’m not hungry. The Beachbody Ultimate Reset makes you really stop and think about your normal eating habits. The other difficult aspect of Phase One is doing all of the food prep. The good news is that it gets easier in Phase Two where a lot of the meals repeat so you can double the recipes. I have also compiled a list of where to get the food for the recipes and have discovered a lot of short cuts (Thank you Trade Joe’s!).
We have 4 other people doing The Beachbody Ultimate Reset with us in our challenge group. They are killing it! Everyone has had such a positive experience so far. Weight loss is just one of the benefits of this program. Our Challengers have lost anywhere from 5-7.8 pounds during Phase One. This is while eating 3 great meals a day and a snack. No starving going on here.
Here are some of the things some of the challengers had to say about week one.
Linda – This first week was actually pretty easy and there is plenty of food to eat. Today is Saturday and I honestly feel more energy and just plain good all over.
Shannon – Loved having a specific menu so that I didn’t have to think about what to have for each meal. It required me to plan ahead for the next day’s meals but planning ahead kept me focused and prepared. It was fun trying new foods and recipes, which were easy to make. My family, who were not doing the reset, even liked them. I feel great!
Mike –I feel like I have more energy and I really enjoy the recipes. I have not been hungry at all. The zucchini cashew soup is my favorite.
